BGC Central Vancouver Island

Formed in 1971, BGC Central Vancouver Island provides experiential learning environments that inspire children, youth and families of diverse abilities to acquire and develop the critical cognitive, emotional, and social skills needed to become resilient and contributing members of society.
With fourteen club locations serving over 2,000 members each year across the Central Vancouver Island region, BGCCVI is the Island’s largest childcare provider. BGC Central Vancouver Island helps young people discover, develop and achieve their best potential as they grow to become Canada’s future leaders by engaging them in activities that challenge and help develop healthy minds and bodies.
BGC Central Vancouver Island provides childcare, daycare, summer camps, teen and youth programs, family programs and parenting programs where anyone can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop the confidence and skills for life.
Programs
BGCCVI will offer many programs as part of the Parksville Child and Family Centre. BGC leaders engage children in activities which develop the skills and knowledge kids need to reach their full potential. Core programming areas include physical literacy and nutrition; educational opportunities and support, social and life skills; and financial literacy and creative arts.
Youth services - BGCCVI runs a variety of general and population specific youth programs. All programs are outcomes based and work to achieve individual and program goals. These programs vary from drop-in models to registration-based programs that follow curriculum. Programs vary from ten weeks to a year with no cost to BGCCVI members.
