Municipal Responsibilities

• The City of Parksville is responsible for conducting its own local election. The City also conducts school trustee elections on behalf of School District #69 (Qualicum).
• Council appoints a Chief Election Officer to ensure the process is run in accordance with the Local Government Act.

Provincial Responsibilities
Elections BC is responsible for managing campaign financing disclosure requirements and election advertising rules. They also deal with the registration of elector organizations and maintain the list of third-party sponsors.
