Grant Funding Utilized by City of Parksville in 2023

NEWS RELEASE

In 2023, a variety of City of Parksville projects were supported by grant funding. The City gratefully acknowledges the major grant funds utilized for the projects detailed below.

From the Canada Community-Building Fund Community Works Fund (Government of Canada), the City allocated a total of $1,677,000 in 2023.

Removal and naturalization

Parksville Community Park
Accessible trails/pathways, roads, equipment/furniture

  • $535,000


Parksville Community Park
Resurfacing of sports courts and refurbishment of skateboard park

  • $120,000


Moss Avenue renewal
Roads, storm, water infrastructure

  • $700,000


Transportation Master Plan

  • $63,000


The Parksville Community Park projects which received government funding in 2023 included:

Integrated Bilateral Agreement for Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (Government of Canada and Province of BC) - Gathering Plaza

  • $396,000


Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada
Lions Ventureland Playground accessible rubber surfacing

  • $300,000


The 2024-2028 financial plan was adopted by Council earlier this month with funds allocated from the Canada Community-Building Fund in 2024. Information about the City’s 2024-2028 financial plan may be viewed on Let’s Talk Parksville.
