Are you a positive, energetic and community-minded individual looking for a meaningful way to serve? Parksville Fire Rescue is launching our annual recruitment campaign, seeking dedicated men and women to join our exceptional team of volunteer paid on-call firefighters.
Who We're Looking For. If you reside in the Parksville Fire Protection Area and are interested in becoming part of a skilled and passionate team, we would like to talk to you! Parksville Fire relies on the commitment of volunteer paid on-call and career firefighters to provide fire and emergency response services, ensuring the community’s safety and well-being.
About Parksville Fire Rescue. To date in 2025, our team responded to about 700 calls, including structure fires, rescues, motor vehicle incidents, medical assistance, and public service requests. Our firefighters are highly trained professionals who embody integrity, honesty, selflessness, commitment, courage, and a strong work ethic. We are family oriented and have been deeply rooted in the community since 1941.

Our members proudly serve the Parksville Fire Protection Area, which includes the City of Parksville and contract areas within the Regional District of Nanaimo: San Pareil, Morningstar, Columbia Beach, French Creek, and the Fourneau Road, Wildgreen, and Martindale Road areas. Our fire protection area is home to about 20,000 residents, with the population rising significantly each summer.
