Lions Ventureland Playground

Over the years, there have been many improvements and upgrades made to the City’s Lions Ventureland Playground in the Parksville Community Park. We are grateful for the funding which has facilitated significant upgrades to the Lions Ventureland Playground.  

• In March 2021, the City was awarded $315,000 from the Tourism Dependent Communities Fund to enhance the playground. The playground was opened to little people on January 31, 2022, and is now affectionately referred to as Harbour Town play area. 
• In July 2022, the City was awarded $300,000 in funding from the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada for accessibility upgrades to the playground. The City’s contribution to this upgrade project was $100,000. The playground opened to the public in March 2023.
