Relocation of Parksville Beach Festival Exhibition

The popular Parksville event hosted by the Parksville Beach Festival Society outgrew the small sand site near the waterfront walkway. In 2025, the sand sculpting exhibition was relocated to the kite field in the Parksville Community Park. This larger sandbox in the southern portion of the kite field, is adjacent to the sand volleyball courts, large gravel parking lot and Sandcastle Drive. This location allows easy access from the gravel parking lot and Sandcastle Drive for visitors, competitors, volunteers, and event crews, and the rectangular site better uses the space for the sculptures and improves accessibility within the site.
