City of Parksville Moves to Level 3 Water Conservation
October 2, 2026
Effective immediately, the City will be moving to Level 3 water conservation until further notice. This change to Level 3 is primarily driven by cooler temperatures and increases in rain in the community.
Although conservation efforts are moving down to Level 3, there are still measures required as we transition into the fall months. Level 3 offers some flexibility for residents to decide where and how to cut back on water use wherever possible.
Level 3 Guidelines
- Watering days are limited to one day per week: odd-numbered houses on Monday, and even-numbered on Thursday.
- On your watering day between 7 – 10 am OR7 – 10 pm:
- Lawn watering with pop-up irrigation, rotors or sprinklers (2 hours maximum).
- Water use on vehicles, RVs, boats, exterior building surfaces, walkways, driveways, buildings (siding), or parking lots using a hand-held container or hose with a shutoff nozzle.
- Anytime watering for shrubs, flowers, and trees with a hand-held container or hose with a shutoff nozzle.
- Swimming pools, wading pools, hot tubs, garden ponds, and water features may be filled anytime on assigned watering days.
- Exempt activities: watering of vegetable gardens and fruit trees, along with businesses which require water for operations, essential municipal sports fields (including School District 69 fields), and nurseries.
