An official condolence book is now available for people to sign in honour of Queen Elizabeth II after her death on September 8, 2022. Available online as a form on the Government of Canada’s website, the book of condolences gives members of the public an opportunity to pay their respects and express memories about Queen Elizabeth II.

The death of Her Majesty the Queen is monumental for Canadians as it marks the end of the longest-reigning Sovereign in Commonwealth history, ushing in a new era with a King. The City of Parksville offers deepest condolences to the British people and the Commonwealth on this profound loss.

City of Parksville flags are at half-mast to mark the Queen’s death. Flags will remain at half-mast until sunset on September 19, the day of the memorial service for Her Majesty the Queen.

    My condolences to each of you on the passing of you mother, grand mother, and great grandmother. I hope your memories will comfort you. I thank her majesty our queen for her life’s dedication, duty and the grace and dignity she show all of us.

    I will as many others , miss her being an example to the world. We will move forward with our King leading us in the coming days.

    My deepest condolences to the Royal Family on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the end of an era for so many. I have always admired the Queen’s commitment to duty and the grace and dignity she demonstrated. Thank you for your years of service, dedication and devotion to people and country. You will be missed.
