Construction on the Bagshaw upgrades project is now complete. The water, sanitary, and storm sewer utilities have replaced the ditches and old asbestos-concrete pipes. Curbs and narrower travel lanes with street parking provide passive traffic calming, discouraging speeding and large-vehicle traffic. The new sidewalks and street trees allow a more comfortable experience for pedestrians and people using mobility devices.

    After working on the underground storm and water utilities over summer, the contractor is starting surface works, including curbs, sidewalks, and landscaping on Bagshaw Street from Stanford Avenue East to the Island Highway East. New streetlights will accompany these surface works as the project nears completion in October. The project team is excited to facilitate an improved pedestrian and driver experience for later this year.
