Local government elections in British Columbia are held every four years. The City of Parksville municipal Council is made up of a Mayor and six Councillors, each to be elected for a four-year term.
The election for the City of Parksville is set for Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 8 am to 8 pm at the Jensen Centre and Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church. Advance voting will be held on Wednesday, October 7 and Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 8 am to 8 pm at the Jensen Centre, 132 Jensen Avenue East.

Interesting in running for office in this year's municipal election? The City of Parksville will host information sessions for those interested in running for Mayor or Councillor. Sessions are geared to potential candidates and campaign workers; however, anyone interested is welcome to join a session.
Information sessions will be held in the Forum, Parksville Civic and Technology Centre (100 Jensen Avenue East) as follows:

These sessions will cover the information prospective candidates need to know about the upcoming election, including the Municipal Elections Act, responsibilities of elected officials, expected time commitment and compensation, election sign regulations, required forms and documents, key dates, and more. Staff will be available to answer questions. We encourage prospective candidates to RSVP to election-official@parksville.ca.
Nomination Filing Period
- The nomination filing period runs from 9 am on Tuesday, September 1 to 4 pm on Friday, September 11. Nomination packages will not be accepted prior to 9 am on September 1 or after 4 pm on September 11. Appointments are recommended.
- Nomination packages will be available from the City’s administration offices during regular office hours
(8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays) from 9 am on Friday, July 24 to 4 pm on Friday, September 11.
The municipal election will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, to elect one Mayor, six Councillors, and two School Board Trustees (Electoral Area G).
